Pentathlon Games were recorded in ancient Greece and used to be part of the ancient Olympic Games. Five events were fought a day for the ancient Olympic Pentathlon, including long jump, spear throwing and discus throwing, followed by the stadian (a short walking) and wrestling. It was focused on the skills required by a soldier at the end of the 19th century, with shooting, swimming, fencing, horse riding and cross -country races. A major aspect of modern Pentathlon is the digit system, under which each contestant is given a certain number of marks based on its performance in each specific competition. Overall, the winner is the contestant with the highest points at the end of the five Pentathlon events.
