Prosecution of personnel involved in corruption will ensure quick action in the acceptance cases: Medical and Health Minister

Medical and Health Minister Shri Gajendra Singh said that the state government has a zero tolerance policy towards corruption. He assured that pending old cases of prosecution approval against corrupt officials would be disposed of on priority. Besides, a time -bound disposal of these cases will also be ensured.

He informed that during 1 January 2022 to 31 December 2024, 1 thousand 592 prosecution approval was sent to the State Government and the Head of Department concerned by the Anti -Corruption Bureau. Out of these, decisions were received in 1 thousand 189 prosecution approval proposals and 403 prosecution approval are under process.

The Medical and Health Minister was responding to the supplementary questions asked by the member in this regard during the Question Hour in the Assembly on Thursday on behalf of the Minister of Anti -Corruption. He said that currently 403 prosecution approval is under process. He informed that to ensure quick action against corrupt personnel, pending cases of prosecution approval are being reviewed at the Chief Minister and Chief Secretary level. He assured that this process would be further strengthened at the Chief Secretary level, so that the proposals under procedure would be uncertain timely action.

Earlier, in a written reply to the original question of MLA Shri Kalicharan Saraf, Mr. Singh said that the prosecution of prosecution sent against the officers and employees found by the ACB is under testing at the level of the departments concerned and the state government. The concerned heads of departments and ACB’s research officer by the State Government are called to discuss the prosecution approval. He said that prosecution acceptance is delayed if ACB is not satisfied with the research and not agreeing on some other topics. Apart from this, a stay order is obtained from the Hon’ble High Court on his prosecution approval by the accused officer and employee, prosecution acceptance proposals are pending due to the time taken in the testing and process on the departmental stater.

Mr. Singh informed that necessary guidelines are issued from time to time to the concerned heads of departments for early disposal of pending cases of prosecution of officers and employees involved in corruption by the state government, so that effective action can be ensured in the cases.
