Jharkhand Assembly Elections 2024 India Block’s historic victory, JMM Congress retains power
New Delhi: The 2024 assembly elections in Jharkhand, which were held in 81 constituencies in two phases on November 13 and 20, saw a major change in the power equation. The ruling Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) and its ally Congress, under the banner of India Bloc, registered a decisive victory and retained power in the state.
While the JMM-Congress alliance under the leadership of Chief Minister Hemant Soren strengthened its political hold, the opposition alliance BJP-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA) faced a crushing defeat. NDA tried its best to overturn power, but its strategy failed.
The list of winners in the Jharkhand Assembly elections saw a mix of experienced politicians and new leaders, reflecting the public mandate. Apart from winning Hemant Soren’s seat Barhat (ST), JMM also won in other key constituencies across the state.
India Bloc’s comprehensive strategy and grassroots campaign played a key role in defeating the BJP-led NDA, which has emerged as a symbol of political change in the state.
