Theme state built in Madhya Pradesh International Surajkund crafts fair

The theme is the theme state at the International Surajkund Shilp Mela being organized by the Tourism Department of Madhya Pradesh, Haryana from 7 February to 23 February 2025. On this occasion, with the combination of Madhya Pradesh Government, Culture and Tourism Department, the tourists of the country and abroad will get an opportunity to enjoy the culture, tourism, art, crafts and traditional cuisine of Madhya Pradesh.

In the International Surajkund Shilp Fair, folk dance music will be performed under cultural performances by Madhya Pradesh. It will have a presentation of folk dances like Bhagoria, Gangaur, Matki, Gudumbaaza, Kathi, Karma, Bhadam, Bredi, greetings, Ahirai etc. Tourists of the fair will be able to see the rich folk culture of Madhya Pradesh. The fair will also have special performances of drama Baiju Bawra and dance drama Veerangana Rani Durgavati on 17 February.

Traditional crafts of 40 craftsmen of Madhya Pradesh will be available for the sale cum sale at Surajkund Shilp Mela. These crafts include Chanderi, Maheshwari saree and garden print, carpet, azarak print, craft made of grass leaf, gond painting, dhokra crafts, jute, soil crafts, embroidery and printing, Bhili dolls, raid arts, nandna prints, iron Crafts, cow dung crafts, embroidery, khard crafts, khadi and cotton, block prints etc. are included.

A special pavilion has also been built in the fair premises by the Madhya Pradesh Tourism Department, where detailed information about the tourism of the state can be given to the tourists. Tourists will be able to know how they can visit the tourist places of Madhya Pradesh. Also, what facilities are provided to tourists by the Madhya Pradesh Tourism Department. In this pavilion, tourists will be informed about the innovations happening in the field of tourism in Madhya Pradesh. It will also be told how he can plan his tour.

About Surajkund craft fair

Surajkund Shilp Mela, 15 -day fair of handicraft of India and craftsmen shows rural and folk culture to people. This fair takes place every year in Surajkund area bordering Delhi in Faridabad city of Haryana state. This fair has been held for almost three decades. Apart from handicrafts and handloom artisans in this fair, there is a confluence of folk music and folk dances in addition to the textile tradition, folk art, folk cuisine of various regions.
