Bemetara police has caught an illegal liquor in village Basa of Berla police station area. Two accused including Bemetara’s professional liquor smuggler Anil Verma alias Bannu Verma have been caught with 445 boxes of liquor. It is being told that illegal liquor was being brought to consume the urban body and panchayat elections. The police is involved in the investigation of who had ordered the liquor.
Police was informed to bring a cache of liquor from Madhya Pradesh to Chhattisgarh. Police laid siege to Basa village of Berla and seized a truck full of liquor CG 04PU 9647. Paddy straw was filled above to hide the liquor. The police have arrested two accused. Accused Anil Verma alias Bannu Verma is originally from Bemetara and is a professional liquor smuggler. Even before this, he has been caught smuggling liquor. The second accused is the driver of the truck, who is a resident of Madhya Pradesh.

Bemetara Superintendent of Police Ramakrishna Sahu said that this liquor was being brought to consume the election. Two accused have been arrested in the liquor smuggling case. 445 cases of MP liquor, a truck and car have been seized from the possession of the accused.
