Mumbai experienced its coldest November day in eight years on Friday, with the minimum temperature dropping to 16.5°C between Thursday night and Friday morning. This marks the lowest November temperature recorded in the city since 2016, when the mercury dipped to 16.3°C.
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a cold wave alert for parts of Maharashtra, forecasting “cold wave conditions in isolated pockets” across the state for the next four days. However, the IMD clarified that there is no official cold wave warning for the entire state from November 30 to December 3.
According to the district-wise forecast from the Regional Meteorological Centre in Mumbai, cold wave conditions are expected to persist in parts of Nashik, Ahilyanagar, and Pune until Saturday, with a yellow alert in place for these areas. The rest of Maharashtra is set to experience dry weather over the next five days, with no major weather warnings in effect.
