Ghostface Joins Mortal Kombat 1: New DLC Trailer Reveals Fatalities, Combat Moves and Early Access Details
Warner Bros. Games has dropped a chilling new gameplay trailer for the upcoming DLC guest fighter, Ghostface, in Mortal Kombat 1. The trailer showcases the iconic killer’s fighting style, a gruesome second fatality, and even teases his vulture animality, giving fans a glimpse of the mayhem to come.
As expected, Ghostface brings his trademark quirkiness from the Scream films to the Mortal Kombat universe. In the trailer, he breaks the fourth wall and uses quick combos, aided by another Ghostface killer, to keep opponents on edge. His moves are a sinister blend of slasher film tropes and Mortal Kombat brutality. Ghostface’s fighting style is reminiscent of Noob Saibot’s, as he summons another version of himself for assistance during combat, slashing with his signature knife moves.
Adding to the horror, Ghostface also uses fire elements during his kicks, a move reminiscent of Liu Kang, and throws shadow projectiles while incorporating Kano’s Black Dragon Ball move into his arsenal. His Fatal Blow is a unique multi-Ghostface affair, where two other versions of Ghostface assist in restraining the opponent and delivering a lethal combo. The fatality, however, steals the show: after stabbing Sub-Zero, the scene cuts away to Johnny Cage, who protests losing to Ghostface only to fall victim to a second Ghostface killer.
Fans eager to get their hands on this terrifying guest fighter can unlock early access to Ghostface starting November 19th. The DLC is available through the Mortal Kombat 1: Khaos Reigns Expansion on PC (via Steam), PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch.
