Bihar Government Empowers District Magistrates to Declare School Holidays During Extreme Weather
In a significant policy change, the Bihar government has amended its previous order regarding school holidays in the state. According to sources in the Education Department, the new directive allows District Magistrates (DMs) to decide on school closures during extreme weather conditions, such as intense heat or severe cold.
This move, following the latest order by KK Pathak, aims to provide flexibility for local authorities to ensure the safety and well-being of students and teachers. Along with this change, the government is expected to announce the official dates for summer vacations in schools shortly.
In addition, teachers have been instructed to assign students a substantial amount of homework and project work during the holiday period, ensuring that learning continues uninterrupted despite the weather-related break. This adjustment seeks to balance the needs for both student safety and educational progress.
