Central government approves 40 new projects to promote tourism in 23 states
The Central Government has approved 40 new projects to promote tourism in the country. The total cost of these projects is Rs 3,295 crore, and they will be launched in 23 states of the country. This initiative of the government is being taken to promote tourism in those areas where till now the tourist traffic has been less. The objective of this scheme is to strengthen tourism infrastructure and develop new centers of tourism, so that more and more people visit these areas.
Objective of projects
The main objective of the Central Government is to promote tourism in those places where till now the number of tourists has been less. Through these projects, the government intends to not only boost the local economy but also give people across the country an opportunity to explore undiscovered areas that are culturally, historically and naturally rich.
Projects in important states
Union Culture and Tourism Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat announced this scheme and gave information about the projects done in various states under it. These also include the names of states like UP and Bihar.
Andhra Pradesh
- Gandikota – Enriching the experience of the fort and valley (Cost 77.91 crore)
- Akhand Godavari (Havelock Bridge and Pushkar Ghat), Rajamahendravaram (Cost Rs 94.44 crore)
Arunachal Pradesh

Direction to promote tourism across the country
After the central government approved these projects, Prime Minister Narendra Modi also tweeted and said, “Tourism can bring prosperity in the lives of many people. “Our government will continue to focus on enhancing India’s tourism infrastructure, enabling people to experience more of the best places to visit.”
Under these 40 projects, not only infrastructure will be created in the tourism sector, but new employment opportunities will also be created for the local people. These projects are expected to give a new direction to the country’s tourism and will also benefit the local economies.
