Cristiano Ronaldo’s YouTube Debut Shatters Records: Over 24 Million Subscribers in Just One Day

Cristiano Ronaldo, the legendary Portuguese soccer player, has added another achievement to his illustrious career: becoming a YouTube star. In a stunning debut, Ronaldo’s newly launched YouTube channel, “UR Cristiano,” amassed over 24 million subscribers within just one day of posting his first video.

Ronaldo, who currently plays for Saudi club Al-Nassr, joined YouTube on July 8 but didn’t start sharing content until Wednesday. Since then, he has uploaded 19 videos, including seven Reels and 12 traditional videos, offering fans a glimpse into his personal life, family, and lifestyle. The videos are short, with most running around three minutes or less, yet they’ve captivated millions around the globe.

To celebrate his rapid rise on the platform, Ronaldo posted a video on Instagram showing off his golden YouTube plaque, a milestone achievement given to creators who reach significant subscriber numbers. In his announcement, Ronaldo teased his fans with a “big surprise,” and he certainly delivered, breaking records in the process.

Pedro Pina, YouTube’s Vice President for Europe, the Middle East, and Africa, praised Ronaldo’s explosive success on the platform. “YouTube’s dream team-up with football legend Cristiano Ronaldo has been a labor of love and dedication,” Pina said. “This is just the kick-off to an epic adventure, and we’re strapped in for the ride.”

Ronaldo’s massive following across social media has undoubtedly fueled his quick success on YouTube. His Instagram account, with 636 million followers, is second only to Instagram’s official account. He also has a colossal presence on other platforms, with 112.6 million followers on X (formerly Twitter) and 170 million on Facebook.

While Ronaldo is not the first athlete to venture into YouTube, his meteoric rise sets him apart. Other sports stars like Stephen Curry and Cam Newton have their own popular channels, but Ronaldo’s subscriber count has quickly eclipsed theirs. However, the reigning king of YouTube remains Jimmy Donaldson, better known as MrBeast, who boasts an unmatched 311 million subscribers.

Ronaldo’s foray into YouTube marks yet another chapter in his already extraordinary career. With millions of fans tuning in, it’s clear that Ronaldo’s presence on YouTube is set to be as legendary as his achievements on the soccer field.
