Delhi Makes T20 History by Using All 11 Bowlers in a Single Innings Against Manipur
Delhi has etched its name in the history books during the ongoing Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy, creating a unique record in T20 cricket. In their clash against Manipur at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai, Delhi became the first team ever to use all 11 bowlers in a single T20 innings.
In an astonishing feat, every player in the Delhi squad contributed with the ball as they restricted Manipur to just 120 runs for 8 wickets in their 20 overs. Skipper Ayush Badoni, who also serves as the wicketkeeper, led the charge by picking up two wickets in his two-over spell. Alongside him, four other bowlers took wickets, while Aayush Singh stood out as the most economical bowler among those who bowled more than one over.
This record-breaking achievement in T20 cricket eclipsed the previous record held by the Sialkot Stallions, who used nine bowlers in a T20 innings during a match against Multan Tigers in the 2009 T20 Cup.
Interestingly, using 11 bowlers in an innings is not unheard of in Test cricket, with four teams having achieved this feat, the most recent being in 2005. The last time India used all 11 bowlers in a Test was under Sourav Ganguly captaincy against the West Indies in 2002 at the Antigua Recreation Ground in St. John’s, Antigua.
