New Delhi: Tesla and SpaceX CEO Elon Musk has praised India’s electoral process. Musk compared the speed at which India counted 640 million votes in a single day in the Lok Sabha 2024 elections with the US, where counting of election results is being delayed. “India counted 640 million votes in a day while California is still counting,” Musk wrote on highlights their frustration with the counting process.

Musk shared a screenshot of a Newsweek article titled, “How India counted 640 million votes in one day,” and wrote in the post, “Meanwhile in India, where fraud is not the primary goal of their elections.”

The appreciation comes a day after the assembly election results of Maharashtra and Jharkhand were declared, while vote counting in California is facing huge delays. California, home to about 39 million people, has been counting votes for more than 15 days and has about 800,000 votes left to count.

Responding to the delay in counting votes, California Secretary of State Shirley Weber said, “It takes time to ensure that every ballot is counted, with every voter voting only once,” and pointed out that the state The U.S. law allows 30 days from the date of the election to complete counting and certification.

Through this tweet, Musk compared the efficiency of India’s electoral process and questioned the slow pace of the American election counting system.
