The Indian government has issued a crucial clarification for retiring employees regarding General Provident Fund (GPF) disbursals, addressing frequent queries about interest payments on delayed GPF payouts. This new directive, released by the Department of Pension and Pensioners’ Welfare (DOPPW) on October 25, 2024, highlights the importance of timely processing at each step, from retirement listing to the issuance of Pension Payment Orders (PPOs).
