Health Minister said- Construction of new medical college in Jaisalmer and Tonk districts is on launch

Medical and Health Minister Shri Gajendra Singh said in the Assembly today that construction work is going on to open a new medical college of 100-100 MBBS seats in Jaisalmer and Tonk districts. These will be started after permission from NMC in academic session 2025-26. He informed that under the Central Fraled Scheme, a phased increase of 527 new seats in PG courses will also be done after approval of NMC.

The Medical and Health Minister was answering the supplementary questions asked by the member in this regard during the Question Hour. He said that currently medical colleges are operated at 6 divisions headquarters of the state. Apart from this, 22 medical colleges have been opened under the Rajmes Society. Mr. Singh said that medical colleges will be operated on PPP mode in Pratapgarh, Rajsamand and Jalore.

Earlier, in a written reply to MLA Mrs. Deepti Kiran Maheshwari’s basic question, Medical and Health Minister said that the government has continuously reviewed the fee structure prescribed in medical colleges. The final fee structure has been reviewed in the year 2024. He put the details of the fee structure on the floor of the House. The Medical and Health Minister informed that scholarship is given to eligible students studying in medical colleges. In which part of the state and center is also contained. He put the details of the scholarships and the criteria on the table of the House.
