Tehran
Although the Islamic country Iran has stopped the implementation of strict hijab law in December last year, but there are still women against the hijab ban. In a similar incident, in the second largest city of Mashhad in Iran, a woman publicly protested and took off all her clothes and then naked and stood on the bonnet of the police vehicle and started committing uproar. In a video going viral on social media, women are seen screaming at the armed forces officials.
Iranian journalist and social activist Christ Alinezad has shared a video of this act of the woman on social media. It is seen in the video that the woman who created a ruckus is climbing the police car and is sitting towards the windshield and spreading both her legs. Seeing the condition of the woman, an armed male officer present there seems to be hesitant to interfere in the case. At the end of the video, the woman raised her hands up and shouted in protest.
The woman was opposing strict provisions for women in the Republic of Islamic. She also refused to cover the body completely. However, as the uproar progressed, the woman’s husband said that she is currently undergoing treatment and her condition is not good. Explain that in December, the Iranian MP passed the controversial ‘purity and hijab’ law, providing strict punishment on women and girls who perform their hair, hands or legs. However, the Iranian government bowed down after widespread opposition from women and prohibited the implementation of this law. The Iranian government then said that it needs improvement.
Several global organizations, including Amnesty International, condemned this law of Iran and called it an attempt to strengthen the oppressive and stamina system. In the proposed law, a provision of heavy fines and imprisonment of up to 15 years for repeated crimes was also provided.
