IND vs AUS: Rain Delays Practice Match Teams to Play 50-Over Game with Pink Ball Tomorrow
The much-anticipated practice match between India and the Australian Prime Minister’s XI at Manuka Oval, Canberra, was affected by continuous rainfall on November 30, leading to the cancellation of the day’s play. However, both teams are now set to play a 50-over match tomorrow, using the pink ball, with the match scheduled to start at 9:10 AM IST.
India had hoped to provide their captain Rohit Sharma and opener Shubman Gill with crucial practice before the second Test, especially as both players were unavailable for the first Test match. Rohit was in India, while Gill was recovering from an injury. This practice session marked Gill’s first since his return from injury, and he expressed satisfaction with his progress. In a video shared by the BCCI, Gill shared his thoughts, saying, “I was a little disappointed for the first few days. It was my first day of practice, and I just wanted to see how the injury was reacting. It turned out better than I expected, and I’m very happy with it.”
The Australian Prime Minister also visited the Indian team on the ground, sharing a photo with Virat Kohli on Instagram. He acknowledged the rain delay but was pleased to interact with both the players and the fans at Manuka Oval.
