In this match, special attention will be paid to 13-year-old young player Vaibhav Suryavanshi, who has recently created a stir in the cricket world with his brilliant performance.
Vaibhav Suryavanshi: Record after record at a young age
Vaibhav Suryavanshi, who is the youngest player to represent India in this tournament, also created history in the IPL 2024 mega auction. Rajasthan Royals bid Rs 1.1 crore for the young batsman, making him the youngest player to be selected in the IPL auction.
Vaibhav’s cricket career has been full of achievements. He scored 104 runs in 62 balls in the Under-19 Test against Australia, which makes him the youngest player to score an international century at the Under-19 level. He made this record at the age of just 13 years and 187 days. Earlier this record was in the name of Nazmul Hussain Shanto of Bangladesh, who had achieved this feat at the age of 14 years and 241 days.
Historic start in Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy and Ranji
Vaibhav made another record in his name on 23 November 2024 while playing for Bihar against Rajasthan in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy. He became the youngest player to play in this tournament. Additionally, he is one of the very few players to have played Ranji matches at his age.
In terms of age of playing in Ranji Trophy, Vaibhav has left behind even legends like Sachin Tendulkar and Yuvraj Singh. While Sachin played his first Ranji match at the age of 15 years and 230 days, Yuvraj Singh made his Ranji debut at the age of 15 years and 57 days.
