LIC Scholarship Scheme: LIC Golden Jubilee Scholarship Offers Lifeline to Underprivileged Students
Deadline Alert: The last day to apply for the LIC Golden Jubilee Scholarship Scheme 2024 is December 22, 2024. If you’ve completed your 10th or 12th grade and are pursuing further studies, here’s your chance to secure financial support for your education.
Objective of the Scheme: The Life Insurance Corporation of India (LIC) has launched this scholarship to aid economically disadvantaged and meritorious students, enabling them to continue their education beyond secondary school and secure better employment opportunities.

General Scholarship: Open to both boys and girls in recognized colleges or universities post 10th or 12th grade.

Eligibility: Students must have passed their previous examination with at least 60% marks and come from a family with an annual income not exceeding INR 2.5 lakh (with exceptions up to INR 4 lakh in special cases like single-parent households).

Amount:

MBBS, BDS, BAMS, BHMS: INR 40,000 per annum

BE, B.Tech, B.Arch: INR 30,000 per annum

Other bachelor’s degrees or integrated courses: INR 20,000 per annum

Diploma or ITI courses: INR 20,000 per annum

Special Scholarship for Girls: Specifically for female students to promote education among girls.

Eligibility: Must have passed 10th grade with at least 60% marks in the academic year 2022-2024 and enrolled in intermediate, ITI, or diploma courses.

Amount: INR 15,000 per annum for two years.

How to Apply:

Applications are only accepted online via the LIC’s official website at www.licindia.in. Applicants must consent to the use of their personal details (like PAN and e-Aadhar) for processing their application.
Selection Criteria:

Selection is merit-based, focusing on marks in 10th or 12th grade. Preference is given to students applying after 12th grade for the general scholarship.
Number of Scholarships:

Each of LIC’s 112 divisional offices will select 30 students. This includes 20 for the General Scholarship (10 boys and 10 girls) and 10 for the Special Scholarship for Girls. If there are vacancies, they can be filled by candidates of the opposite gender.

The scholarship covers undergraduate courses only, not postgraduate programs.

If a student receives another scholarship, they are not eligible for LIC’s scholarship, except in the case of government scholarships.

Students must maintain a minimum of 55% marks in medical/engineering courses or 50% in other courses to continue receiving the scholarship.
