Mallika Sagar’s big mistake in IPL 2025 mega auction, Delhi Capitals suffered loss, RCB got benefit!”
A major upset came to light amid interesting incidents in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 mega auction in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia on November 25. In this auction, 10 teams bought a total of 182 players for Rs 639.15 crore, but this time a mistake caught everyone’s attention.
Auctioneer Mallika Sagar made a big mistake when the bidding was going on for the opening batsman Swastik Chikara between Delhi Capitals and Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB). Mallika ignored the bid from Delhi Capitals and included Swastik Chikara in the RCB team.
Delhi Capitals head coach Hemang Badani later revealed that he had raised the paddle to bid for Swastik Chikara, but Mallika did not notice it. After realizing her mistake, Mallika admitted her mistake, but by then RCB had taken the 19-year-old uncapped batsman into their team for his base price of Rs 30 lakh.
Delhi suffered a big loss due to this mistake, while Virat Kohli’s team RCB got the benefit.
