US President Donald Trump has banned the International Commission for Affairs (ICC). The US has taken this action due to the ICC’s investigation into the Israeli war crime in Gaza. America’s leading aide Israel has been facing serious allegations of massacre in Gaza. The ICC issued arrest warrants of Israeli leaders last year. Trump has announced a ban, calling the ICC action a dangerous example. These sanctions include prohibition of ICC officials entry into the US.

According to Associated Press, Donald Trump has taken this step due to the ICC arrest warrant against Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu after the attacks in Gaza. The Trump administration is opposing the ICC investigation of the US and allies. He has described these investigations as wrong and inspired by politics. However, the US and Israel are not members of the ICC and both countries do not obey its orders.

The ICC has faced American vengeance for the second time. In 2020, the Trump administration imposed ban on the then prosecutor Fatau Bansouda and a top ally. These restrictions were imposed in response to the ICC investigating the ICC of war crimes of American soldiers in Afghanistan. The ICC has also faced challenges due to US sanctions. This has affected the functioning of the court.

The ICC president had expressed concern some time ago that US sanctions could severely affect the functioning of the court. He has called for the international community to protect the freedom of the court. ICC is a permanent court with ICC 125 member countries. This war prosecute crimes, crimes against humanity, massacre and aggression against member countries or their citizens. However, many big countries are not its members.

The International Court of court issued arrest warrants of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, former Israeli Defense Minister Yov Galant and Hamas leaders last November. The court had admitted that Netanyahu and Galant stopped human assistance and used the starvation of citizens in Gaza as a war weapon. However, Israel dismissed the allegations as false.
