Rasmus Højlund Shines as Ruben Amorim Secures First Win at Old Trafford with 3-2 Europa League Victory

Ruben Amorim finally secured his first win as Manchester United manager with a thrilling 3-2 victory over Norwegian side Bodø/Glimt in the Europa League at Old Trafford. The match marked Amorim’s home debut, and it was a night to remember, thanks to a standout performance from striker Rasmus Højlund.

Højlund scored a crucial brace, including a first-half equalizer and a second-half winner, to propel United to victory. The match started in dramatic fashion with Alejandro Garnacho scoring just 60 seconds in, following a brilliant assist from Højlund, but the visitors quickly responded with goals from Håkon Evjen and Philip Zinckernagel, taking a 2-1 lead.

However, Højlund leveled things up just before halftime, tapping in a cross from Manuel Ugarte, before netting the decisive goal five minutes into the second half to secure all three points for United.

Amorim reflected on the match, telling TNT Sports: “There were good moments and difficult moments, but the lads did a great job. We pressed, we worked on the things we’ve been practicing, and we got the win.”

This victory came after Amorim’s managerial debut in the Premier League, which saw a 1-1 draw against Ipswich Town, where Marcus Rashford scored just 81 seconds into the game.

United remains unbeaten in the Europa League, with two wins and three draws, and will look to build on this momentum as they continue their campaign under Amorim’s leadership.
