RCB’s smart auction strategy towards the title with the new team under the captaincy of Virat
New Delhi: Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) has prepared its team for the upcoming IPL season with a great strategy in the mega auction. Team India’s experienced spinner Ravichandran Ashwin has praised RCB’s auction strategy. Ashwin says that this time the franchise has taken very balanced and thoughtful steps.
In the two-day mega auction held in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, RCB included great players like Tim David, Josh Hazlewood, Phil Salt, Liam Livingston and Jitesh Sharma in their team. However, the franchise did not use the right-to-match card to retain big names like Mohammed Siraj, Glenn Maxwell, Faf du Plessis and Will Jacques.
Ashwin supported the strategy of waiting
Ashwin said, “I think RCB had a great auction. He did not rush and waited for the right players. Other teams spent huge amounts in the beginning, but RCB took thoughtful steps according to its needs. He maintained balance and focused on his core team.”
This time RCB has prepared a mix of young and experienced players. The team includes players like Virat Kohli, Josh Hazlewood, Liam Livingston, Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Tim David, who can bring the franchise closer to its first IPL trophy.
