RSS Demands Immediate Action to End Atrocities Against Hindus in Bangladesh

The Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) issued a strong statement on Saturday, condemning the ongoing violence against Hindus in Bangladesh and calling for immediate action to stop the atrocities. The statement follows a week of protests and counter-protests across Bangladesh, sparked by the arrest and imprisonment of Hindu priest Chinmoy Krishna Das.

In its statement, RSS General Secretary Dattatreya Hosabale expressed deep concern over the rising violence against Hindus and other minorities, including murders, looting, and arson carried out by Islamic extremists. The RSS also criticized the Bangladesh government and law enforcement agencies for their silence and failure to take action to protect the victims.

“The attacks, murders, looting, arson, and inhuman atrocities on Hindus, women, and other minorities in Bangladesh are extremely worrying. The current government and its agencies are mere spectators rather than taking steps to stop this violence,” said the statement from Hosabale.

The Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) also expressed its concern over the growing violence and “extremist rhetoric” in Bangladesh, reiterating India’s position on the issue. The MEA has raised the matter of targeted attacks on minorities, particularly Hindus, with the Bangladesh government on several occasions.

The RSS statement further urged the Bangladesh government to “immediately stop” the attacks and release Chinmoy Krishna Das, who was arrested earlier this week during his travels in Dhaka. The arrest of the former ISKCON monk has triggered widespread protests, resulting in one death and several injuries.

Hosabale condemned the detention of Chinmoy Krishna Das, stating that it was unjust for the Bangladesh government to imprison the monk, who had been leading peaceful demonstrations for the protection of Hindus. The RSS called on the Indian government to continue its efforts to combat the violence and build global support for the cause of protecting minorities in Bangladesh.
