The Rajasthan High Court has sought a response to the issue of shortage of teachers in medical colleges in the state. The High Court has asked how many posts of teachers are approved in government and private medical colleges of the state and how many teachers are posted in them.
Along with this, the High Court has also issued a notice to the Medical Council of India and asked to explain what mechanism they have about the working of adequate teachers in medical colleges. A division bench of Chief Justice MM Srivastava and Justice Umashankar Vyas gave this order while hearing the PIL filed by Mahendra Gaur. In the PIL, advocate Tanveer Ahmed told the court that most of the medical colleges operated in the state are short of medical teachers.
NMC report-be a teacher on every subject
According to the National Medical Commission (NMC) report, there should be at least one teacher for a subject in the college. Lack of teachers is affecting the study of MBBS course. How these doctors will treat the human body after completion without guidance course are beyond comprehension.
Data to teachers on website
It was also said in the petition that during the inspection of the medical college operated in the state, teachers from another medical college are posted in the concerned college and after completion of the inspection, the teacher is sent back. The petition said that the data of medical teachers should be displayed on the National Medical Commission website. This can make it clear how many posts are approved in which medical college and how many of these posts are running vacant.
