Strong blow of winter this year! There will be record cold in December due to ‘La Nina effect’.

The month of November is almost coming to an end, and winter is slowly beginning to take its toll in North India. Snowfall has started on the mountains, while fog has also started in many states. But this time the blow of winter that is going to hit us all will be different. The month of December can prove to be the coldest month of this year, and the reason behind this is ‘La Nina Effect’.

weather forecast
The Meteorological Department had already predicted this year’s weather that winters would be more intense and longer. Especially from the month of December, the sting of cold will increase and the temperature will drop drastically. But now the question arises that why will the winter be so severe this year? The only reason for this is ‘La Nina Effect’.

What is ‘La Nina Effect’?
The La Nina effect occurs when the waters of the Pacific Ocean are cooler than normal. Its impact is not only in India but also in Asian countries like Pakistan, Afghanistan, Sri Lanka and Myanmar. Due to this effect, cold winds move towards these countries, due to which there is a sudden drop in temperature in these areas and the severity of winter increases.

When was the last time ‘La Nina effect’ occurred?
This is not the first time that ‘La Nina effect’ has been observed in India. Earlier in 2001, its effect was visible during winter, which lasted for about 7 months. Now, 22 years later, this effect has returned again during the winter season in India, and it is likely to feel even colder this time.
