Sunny Munda and Diya Thapa Shine at Sports Festival 2024 with Gold Medals

Sunny Munda clinched the gold medal in the boys’ senior category on the sixth day of the 2024 Sports Festival, organized by Jankalyan Samarpan Sansthan at the Sikidiri Football Ground. In a thrilling competition, Ashutosh Karmali took the silver, while Namit Karmali secured the bronze in the same category.

The girls’ senior category saw Diya Thapa Kshetri take the top spot with a gold medal, followed by Aanchal Kumari with silver and Sarita earning the bronze.

In the junior boys’ category, Sudesh Mahato triumphed with a gold, while Nikhil Karmali and Bhumidev Munda won silver and bronze, respectively. In the girls’ junior category, Sonam Kumari bagged the gold medal, Akanksha Kumari earned the silver, and Chanchal Kumari took home the bronze.

Young athletes also excelled in age-based races. In the 3-year-old category, Komal Kumari won gold, Yash Rajwar got silver, and Lakshmi Kumari claimed bronze. In the 5-year-old category, Annu Kumari earned gold, followed by Shivani Kumari with silver and Gulabi Kumari with bronze.

The 7-year-old category saw Manha Naz securing the gold, Vidyansh Kumar winning silver, and Shivank Kumar taking bronze. In the 9-year-old category, Ankit Karmali won gold, Saurav Karmali grabbed silver, and Naveen Ganjhu received bronze. Lastly, in the 10-year-old category, Sonam Kumari claimed the gold medal, with Jyoti Kumari and Chanchal Kumari taking silver and bronze.

The winners were awarded by Shashi Kumar Sahu, Himanshu Mahato, and President Sujit Kumar. A large crowd, including Raman Kumar, Kunti Devi, Satyapal Raut, Rajkumar, Dilip Kumar Deepu, and several other dignitaries, were present to cheer on the athletes and celebrate their achievements.
