Surendra Yadav Challenges Bihar CM Nitish Kumar After Son Defeat in Belaganj By-election
In a surprising turn of events following the recent assembly by-election results in Bihar, Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) leader Surendra Yadav has openly criticized Chief Minister Nitish Kumar and his party, Janata Dal United (JDU), after his son’s defeat in Belaganj—an area traditionally known as an RJD stronghold. Surendra Yadav, an RJD Member of Parliament (MP), has alleged that the by-election was marred by the misuse of government machinery and money power, leading to his son’s loss.
RJD’s Setback in Belaganj By-election
In the closely contested by-election, JDU’s Manorama Devi emerged victorious over Surendra Yadav’s son, who had been given a ticket by the RJD. The defeat has left Surendra Yadav disheartened, leading him to express his frustrations in a viral video. In the video, Yadav accused the ruling government of using unfair tactics to influence the outcome of the election.
Accusations of Misuse of Power
Surendra Yadav claimed that the defeat was due to widespread misuse of government power and resources. He noted that the election in Belaganj was unlike any other, describing it as an event where the administration and money were heavily involved. “I have never seen such an election. During the Congress and Atal Bihari Vajpayee governments, elections were fair, but now it is either police hooliganism or money power,” he said.
Yadav’s Bold Challenge to Nitish Kumar
In the viral video, Yadav issued a direct challenge to Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, daring him to contest the next election from Belaganj. “If Nitish Kumar defeats me from Belaganj, I will retire from politics for life and resign from my Lok Sabha seat,” Yadav boldly declared. He emphasized that his challenge was directed at Nitish Kumar alone, not any other minister, accusing the Chief Minister of presiding over an election process that was unlike anything seen in his 20-year tenure.
Yadav’s remarks have sparked a political debate in Bihar, with his strong words indicating that the Belaganj by-election results have further fueled tensions between the RJD and JDU. This challenge adds a new layer of intrigue to Bihar’s political landscape, as both parties prepare for future electoral battles.
