Tragic Incidents in Deoria: Man Brutally Beaten in Wedding Theft Mistake, Girl Found Dead in Suspicious Circumstances

A heartbreaking series of events unfolded in Uttar Pradesh’s Deoria district this week, highlighting two disturbing incidents.

In one case, a man who had gone to attend a wedding in Tarkulwa village was wrongly accused of theft and violently beaten by locals. The incident took place on Wednesday night when a member of the wedding party, who was intoxicated, wandered away from the group and lost his way. Confused and seeking help, he knocked on the door of a nearby house, but the residents mistakenly thought he was a thief.

Shouts of “thief, thief” spread quickly, and a mob gathered. The man was tied to an electric pole and savagely beaten with sticks, punches, and kicks, causing severe injuries. The brutal attack was filmed and went viral on social media, prompting the police to intervene. The victim was treated for his injuries at the local police station after being rescued by authorities. His family later arrived and took him home the following day.

In a separate, equally tragic incident, the body of a missing young girl was discovered in a field with signs of violence. The 12-13-year-old girl had been attending a wedding with her family when she went missing. Despite an overnight search by her family, her semi-naked body was found in a farm on Wednesday morning, with visible neck injuries. Police have opened a case of suspected murder and rape following the family’s allegations.

The investigations into both incidents are ongoing, and authorities are working to gather further details. The Deoria community remains in shock over the disturbing events that have marred this festive season.
