Woman Defends Herself Against Molester in Gopalpur, Crowd Joins in Beating

A young man who attempted to molest a woman in broad daylight was beaten up by the woman and bystanders at Gopalpur Turn near the airport, in Tilkamanjhi police station area. The incident, which occurred in the afternoon, quickly escalated when the woman, standing at the Gopalpur Petrol Pump turn while waiting for someone, was approached by the man.

Eyewitnesses reported that the man initially made inappropriate gestures and then began harassing the woman. Angered by his actions, the woman fought back, grabbing hold of the man and beating him in full view of the public. The situation drew a crowd, which joined in, further assaulting the man.

Upon being notified, the police arrived at the scene, where the woman explained that she had initially ignored the man’s advances. However, as his behavior grew bolder, she decided to take matters into her own hands. The woman stated that his continued harassment led her to confront him physically.

The police have begun an investigation into the matter.

In a separate incident, a property dispute between two brothers in Chhoti Khanjarpur, under Barari police station, led to a counter-complaint being filed. The brothers, Ranjit Singh and Kishore Kumar Singh, both filed reports following an altercation on November 26. The dispute, reportedly over ancestral property, led to physical injuries, and both parties have been sent for medical treatment. Police have registered an FIR and are taking further action based on the complaints from both sides.
