WPL 2025 Auction Set for December 15: Big Names Like Dottin, Knight, and Rana to Draw Major Bids

The stage is set for the highly anticipated Women’s Premier League (WPL) 2025 player auction, scheduled to take place in Bengaluru on December 15. As the third edition of the T20 league approaches, expected to be held in February-March next year, the five teams involved will have a heightened budget to build their squads.

According to reports from ESPNCricinfo, each team will have Rs 15 crore in their purse for the mini-auction. With several star cricketers up for grabs, the auction promises to be an exciting affair. Among the players to watch are Deandra Dottin, Heather Knight, and India’s Sneh Rana, who are likely to command high bids.

The teams have already committed substantial funds to retain their core players, with Delhi Capitals—runners-up in the first two seasons—entering the auction with the smallest purse of just Rs 2.50 crore. While the official player list has not been released, all eyes are on international stars like England captain Heather Knight and Caribbean powerhouse Deandra Dottin, who are expected to be in high demand.

Additionally, India’s Sneh Rana, despite some recent struggles, is poised to become one of the most expensive players in the auction. As the defending champions, Royal Challengers Bangalore will also look to strengthen their squad ahead of the next season, ensuring an intense and thrilling auction in December.
