Apple Releases Critical Security Patches for iOS iPadOS and macOS to Address Exploited Vulnerabilities

Apple has rolled out important updates for iOS 18.1.1, iPadOS 18.1.1 and macOS Sequoia 15.1.1 on Tuesday, patching security vulnerabilities in JavaScriptCore and WebKit that have been actively exploited on some devices.

The JavaScriptCore flaw allows maliciously crafted web content to execute arbitrary code on affected devices, while the WebKit vulnerability could enable cross-site scripting attacks through similar methods. Both vulnerabilities posed a significant security risk, particularly for Intel-based Macs, where they have been actively targeted.

Although the issues are known to affect older Mac models, other devices running the same software are still susceptible to attack due to the shared security flaws.

To ensure your device is protected, users can download the latest updates by going to Settings > General > Software Update on their iPhone or iPad, or System Settings > Software Update on their Mac.
