Tata Motors Discontinues Select Variants of Punch: What You Need to Know

Tata Motors has quietly removed select variants of its popular compact SUV, the Punch, which has consistently ranked among the top three best-selling cars in India throughout 2024. The Punch’s appeal largely stems from its diverse range of options, offering four primary trims: Pure, Adventure, Accomplished Plus, and Creative Plus, along with special Camo editions available in select trims.

Recent Lineup Changes

In a recent update, Tata Motors has discreetly discontinued the mid-spec Adventure and Adventure Rhythm trims for the Punch in its manual, AMT, and CNG versions. As a result, the compact SUV is now available in a total of eight different trim levels. However, the limited-run Camo edition, launched for the festive season, remains unaffected by this update.

Despite these changes, the Tata Punch continues to be offered in 19 different variants, with ex-showroom prices starting at ₹6.13 lakh and going up to ₹10 lakh. The SUV is powered by a 1.2-liter petrol engine, which delivers 86 HP and 115 Nm of torque, available with both 5-speed manual and AMT transmissions. Additionally, five models feature a CNG option, which produces slightly lower power outputs of 73 HP and 103 Nm, specifically paired with a manual gearbox.

Pricing and Engine Details

With the discontinuation of the mid-spec trims, the price gap between the entry-level Pure (O) and Adventure S trims now stands at ₹90,000. The Punch’s competitive pricing and robust features continue to make it a formidable player in the compact SUV segment.
