KTM has officially launched the 2024 version of its popular quarter-litre motorcycle, the KTM 250 Duke, in the Indian market. With a competitive price of ₹2.41 lakh (ex-showroom), the new 250 Duke comes with a host of upgrades, including a cutting-edge TFT screen and a striking LED headlamp featuring distinctive boomerang-shaped daytime running lights borrowed from its larger sibling, the 390 Duke.
Key Features of the 2024 KTM 250 Duke
The upgraded LED headlamp promises enhanced visibility during nighttime riding, while the aggressive daytime running lights significantly improve the bike’s road presence. The new vibrant TFT display replaces the previous LCD unit, showcasing essential information and a prominent rev counter. Additionally, it supports Bluetooth connectivity for headset and mobile phone integration, allowing for a more connected riding experience. Conveniently controlled via the switch cubes on the left handlebar, this Bluetooth feature was also available in the previous model.
Performance and Engine Specifications
Despite the new features, the engine remains largely unchanged. The 250 Duke is powered by a liquid-cooled 249.07 cc engine, designated by KTM as the LC4C, which delivers a peak power output of 30.57 bhp at 9,250 rpm and a torque of 25 Nm at 7,250 rpm. The engine is paired with a 6-speed gearbox equipped with a bi-directional quickshifter, enhancing the riding dynamics.
Advanced Suspension and Braking System
The 250 Duke retains its robust steel trellis frame and features an advanced suspension setup with upside-down forks at the front and a monoshock at the rear. The braking system consists of a 320 mm radial-mounted disc caliper in the front and a 240 mm floating caliper disc at the rear, ensuring effective stopping power. The motorcycle is also equipped with a dual-channel anti-lock braking system (ABS) and a supermoto mode, which allows the rider to disable the ABS on the rear wheel for more aggressive riding.
