New Jersey Introduces Johnny and Matthew Gaudreau MVP Award to Honor Late Hockey Stars

The New Jersey State Interscholastic Athletic Association (NJSIAA) has introduced a new MVP award in honor of the late Johnny and Matthew Gaudreau, two standout hockey players from New Jersey.
This year, four players received the inaugural Johnny and Matthew Gaudreau MVP Award:
🏆 Aidan Wilson
🏆 Jack Gerne
🏆 Braydon Sisco
🏆 Brynn Dandy
The award serves as a tribute to the Gaudreau brothers, who left a lasting impact on New Jersey hockey. Johnny Gaudreau, the Columbus Blue Jackets forward, continues to be a major figure in the hockey world, and this award ensures that his late brothers’ legacies will be remembered.
On Tuesday, Johnny Gaudreau’s wife, Meredith, shared a post from B/R Open Ice’s Instagram account, showcasing the inaugural award presentation to the state MVPs.
This new award adds to the rich history of New Jersey high school hockey, ensuring that young athletes who excel on the ice continue to be recognized for their achievements. 🏒👏 #GaudreauMVP #NJHockey
